Mural illustration for Walmart store in Hazlehurst, GA.
The artwork, Where Rivers Meet, celebrates the love of sports and nature. I was asked to highlight the confluence where three of Georgia’s largest rivers converge and tie it together with the town’s football team. In the mural, flowing water connects the love of nature, fishing, kayaking, and the excitement of great football. Together, these elements reflect a community united by nature, tradition, and pride.
Mural size: 13.9x12.5 ft. Vinyl installation, created in Adobe Photoshop.

When I began working on the Hazlehurst mural, I was immediately drawn to the two major themes the client’s brief pointed to: the confluence where three of Georgia’s largest rivers meet, and the pride of Friday night football. For me, the challenge was to honor both—the timeless flow of nature and the energy of tradition—while weaving them into one story.
I started with research, taking time to learn about Hazlehurst and what these rivers represent to the people who live alongside them. From there, I sketched ideas, experimenting with how the rivers could guide the eye across the scene and connect moments of local life—neighbors fishing, kayakers on the water, and the excitement of a football game night.
Moving into Photoshop, I began to paint, layering color and texture to give the rivers movement and the town’s landscape presence. Every detail was shaped to reflect the unity and community pride that flows through Hazlehurst, just as the rivers do. The finished work is both a celebration and a portrait: a community coming together at the place where rivers meet.
