The brief for this large scale mural project called for representation of a historic railroad with two active lines that attract many visitors to the city, along with its historic downtown and seasonal festivals.

Although this project did not mature, as the client chose a different direction, I loved the opportunity to work on this illustration and look forward to explore new possibilities to bring similar visions to life in the future!
PROCESS
I typically begin with a rough sketch and throw many visual ideas into it to check the composition. Colors inspire and motivate me so I take time to carefully balance the main shapes before diving into textures and finer details.


Version 1 of this project was leaning too much on the Christmas theme, since Grapevine is the Xmas capital of Texas:
